Folsom Funeral Service

 Audrey (Higgins) Child, a resident of Dedham passed away on January 18, 2015 at the age of 95.  Born in Boston, MA she was the daughter of Herbert F. and Audrey (Brennan) Higgins. Her brother was the late Rev. Robert F. Higgins, S.J. Audrey was a graduate of Roslindale High School. She then went on to Emmanuel College where she earned her Bachelors degree in biology and later earned her masters degree in education.  Mrs. Child was a long time kindergarten teacher for the Boston Public Schools.  Most of her career she taught at the Agassiz School in Jamaica Plain.  She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas E. Child and together they raised their 4 children.

 Audrey enjoyed attending the school/sporting events of her children/grandchildren, summers on Cape Cod and she was an avid weather watcher, but her family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her children, Mary Lou Child of Dedham, Thomas (Ted) E. Child III and his wife Dina of So. Burlington, VT, Nancy Reagan and her husband Mike and Jeanne McCabe and her husband Joe, all of Dedham along with her 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

 Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 8AM from the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton St. in Dedham followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9AM at St. Anne Church, 82 W. Milton St. in Readville/Hyde Park.  Interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.  Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00PM.

 Audrey’s family would like to thank the caretakers at the Hellenic Center in Canton for their kindness.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hellenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 601 Sherman St. Canton, MA 02021.
