Estelle E. (Shaner) Flinkman, a resident of Walpole, formerly of Norwood, passed away on December 21, 2014 at the age of 95.  Born in Camden, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Henry and Stella (Knaebel) Shaner.  During World War II, Estelle moved to Miami, Florida where she met and married her handsome husband Klaes A. Flinkman. They moved to Norwood and then later moved to Walpole.  She worked as a waitress in local restaurants in Norwood; Town Square Diner and Lewis’s.  While living in Walpole, she was employed by Marvel Jewelers.  She loved her family and friends.  She also enjoyed music and dancing.  After retiring, Estelle and Klaes moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida.  After Klaes’s death, Estelle remained in Florida for 14 years before moving back to Walpole in 2003.  She enjoyed her Walpole senior bingo and the activities at The Club at Medfield Senior Center.

Estelle is survived by her daughter Shirley Booth, and her husband David, of Walpole, her nephew and godson, Robert Hoffman of California, her nephew, Paul Flinkman of Westfield, MA and her niece, Judy Flinkman of Enfield, Connecticut, as well as nieces and nephew; Patty Shaner, Donna Palmer, Lori Rauer, Debbie DeAlonzo, Shirley Charlton and George Shaner and sister-in-law Bertha Shaner.  She was predeceased by her siblings; Dorothy Hoffman, William Shaner and George Shaner.

Visiting hours to be held on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  A funeral service will follow at 12 PM at the May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols St., Norwood.  Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Walpole Food Pantry, P.O. Box 43, Walpole, MA 02081 or to the Union Congregational Church, 55 Rhodes Ave., East Walpole, MA 02032.

    Shirley: All of us at the Koffee Klatch will miss Estelle. I hope I can emulate her example of how to age ever so gracefully and enjoy it as well. She truly did live her life to the last.
