Virginia Marie (Donahue) Hayward, a longtime resident of Dedham, died Thursday, October 30, 2014 at her home in Dedham. She was 87. Virginia was born December 10, 1926 in Dorchester, Massachusetts, the last surviving daughter of Francis P. and Mildred (Doherty) Donahue. She graduated from Girls High School in Boston and attended the Boston Clerical School. Virginia worked for Baybank in Dedham and as a secretary for Rustcraft Greeting Cards of Dedham. She was the wife of the late Paul Hayward who predeceased her in 2011 and the mother of the late Paul Hayward, and the sister of the late Linda Hayward and the late Cynthia Gorham. Virginia is survived by her son Mark, and his wife Laura, of Glendale, Rhode Island; her son-in-law John Gorham of Dedham; and her grandchildren Ashley Gorham of Philadelphia, and Vaughn Hayward, Garrett Hayward, and Nolan Hayward, all of Glendale, Rhode Island. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home Monday at 9 AM to visit with her family before proceeding to St. Anne’s Church, 47 West Milton Street in Readville for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o clock. Interment will follow in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 would be appreciated.
