Albert H. “Albie” Johnson, a lifelong resident of Norwood, died Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Norwood. he was 93. Albie was born October 6, 1921 in Norwood, Massachusetts, a son of Karl and Teckla (Neilson) Johnson. Albie worked as a label printer at Holliston Mills in Norwood until he enlisted in the US Navy during World War Two. He was a member of the Norwood Debonnaire’s Drum and Bugle Corp, a Past Commander of the Americal Legion, and Past Commander of the Norwood Elks. Abie enjoyed his tropical fish, building model airplanes, and his model trains. He is survived by his sister, Eleanor Anthony of Norwood, a nephew, William Anthony of Norwood, his niece, Linda Grudinskas, and her husband Ben, of Norwood, and their two sons, Scott Blumenthal of Norwood, and Jeremy Blumenthal of Walpole; and his sister-in-law Edith Johnson of Norwood. Albie was the brother of the late Herbert Johnson and the late Lawrence Johnson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service with military honors at the National Cemetery at Bourne on Friday, October 31st at 11:15 am.
