Dewar, Jr. Lawrence M.
Lawrence M. Dewar, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday April 22, 2009 in Dedham, Massachusetts, he was 78. Lawrence was the son of the late Lawrence M. Dewar and Thordis Spaulding of Dedham, Massachusetts. After graduating from Dedham High School as part of the class of 1949, Larry served in the U.S. Navy for the next 4 years. After leaving the service, Larry worked as a air traffic controller in New York, and then at the Burlington International Airport in South Burlington, Vermont. Larry married Beverly Ruth Burke on April 21, 1955. Larry was a member of the Ethan Allen Lodge #72 AF & AM of Williston, Vermont. In his spare time, he was a avid golfer. Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Beverly predeceased Larry on May 3, 2007. He is survived by his three children Karan Leigh Dewar of South Burlington, Vermont, William L. Dewar and his wife Karen of Shelburne, Vermont, and Janet Ruth Casto and her husband Rodney of Tampa, Florida. His grandson Ryan Dewar, and step-grandchildren Nathan, Matthew and Brittany Lesage. He is also survived by his sister, Natalie M. Dewar of Augusta, Maine. He is predeceased by his parents Lawrence M. Dewar, Sr. and Thordis Dewar; his brother Robert R. Dewar, and his wife Carol; and his sister Laverne P. Glazier and her husband Calvin Glazier, Sr. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 29th at 11:00AM, at the First Congregational Church in Burlington, Vermont. Interment will be held at the Vine Lake Cemetery in Medfield, Massachusetts at a later time.
