Colello, Philomena
Philomena “Philly” (Montisano) Colello passed away peacefully at her home on June 5, 2014 at the age of 96. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Vito and Rosemarie (Papsadero) Montisano. Philomena lived in Hyde Park all her life. She was married to her late husband Oresto R. Colello for 76 years. Philomena was a devout Christian. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hyde Park, now Hope Baptist Church, for 60 years and was the church soloist. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Everyone who was blessed to have known Philomena loved her. She was such a kind hearted, caring, giving and strong woman. She had an open heart and saw the very best in people. Philomena’s greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her daughters Joan McPhillips and her husband William and Shirley Mosher of Hyde Park and Joyce Colello-Bornstein and her husband Michael of Foxboro, her grandchildren Kimberley, Leanne McPhillips and her fiancé Steven McInnes, Cheryl Botteri and her husband Bill, Lynne and William Mosher, Skyler and Jayden Bornstein and her great grandchildren, William, Matthew, Brandon and Christopher. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary, Ann, Rose, Betty, Nellie and Josephine.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 8AM from the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton St., Dedham and will be followed by a funeral service at 9AM at the Hope Baptist Church, 1916 River St., Hyde Park. Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery in Cohassett, MA. Visiting hours are on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 4 to 8PM.
