Wood, Ray
Harold Raymond Wood, a resident of Dedham, died Monday, May 26, 2014 at his son’s home in Dedham after a long illness. Ray was born November 18, 1945 in Boston and grew up in Jamaica Plain, graduating from Jamaica Plain High School. He worked as a union electrician for Local 103 of Dorchester for over 30 years until his retirement in 2004. Ray was a member of the Moose Club of Dedham, and was particularly proud of his “Vette”. He was the husband of the late Joanne (Blair) Wood and Ray is survived by his two sons, James “Jay” Wood of Dedham, and Bryan J. Wood, and his wife Heidi, of Dedham; his brother, James M. Wood of Braintree; and his two grandchildren, Ashley and Bryan Wood. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, May 29th from 4 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home Friday at 8 AM and proceed to St. Mary’s Church, 420 High Street, Dedham for his Mass of Christian Burial at 9 ‘o clock. Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.

Ray was my first journeyman that I ever worked with at Carney hospital in 1982. He was smart funny and kind. He really made my first year in the business a great experience. I will always remember Ray. Sorry for your loss.
