Loring, Thelma I.
Thelma Irene (Russell) Loring, a resident of Norwood since 1947, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Norwood Hospital. She was 93. Thelma was born April 7, 1921 in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada, the oldest daughter of Allen and Hilda (Russell) Russell. She graduated from Canton High School with the Class of 1939, On August 17, 1947 she married Harold Everett Loring and moved to Norwood. Her husband Harold died in 2004. Thelma was the mother of Harold E. Loring Jr. of Norwood, and the late Kenneth R. Loring. She was the sister of the late Muriel Lucier, the late Ellery Russell, and the late Otis Russell. She is survived by her brother Donald Russell of Stoughton; her sister Phyllis Viola of Brockton; her two grandchildren, Edward R. Loring and Jeffrey Alan Loring; and her three great grandchildren, Colin Loring, Melissa Loring, and Madison Loring. Visiting hours will be held Monday, April 28th from 4 to 8 PM at the May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols Street, Norwood. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Tuesday at 10 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
