Masse, Seta
Seta (Jelalian) Masse, a resident of the Armenian Home in Jamaica Plain, and formerly a resident of Lexington and Westwood, died Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Golden Living Center of Lexington. She was 89. Seta was born December 26, 1924 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the only child of Hapit and Catherine (Zaregian) Jelalian. She graduated from Boston Latin High School and majored in English at Boston University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree. Seta worked as a banker for 20 years at the Provident Bank and then for 10 more years at Baybank until her retirement in 1990. After her “retirement” she worked in the lingerie department at the May Company in Las Vegas for several years. She enjoyed reading and fashion. Seta was the wife of the late James A. Masse and the grandmother of the late David James Masse. She is survived by her two sons, David H. Masse of Roswell, Georgia, and James A. Masse of Las Vegas, Nevada; her two grandchildren, Jason and Keshia Masse; and her first cousin, Marie Khachadoorian. Visitng hours will be held Friday, April 18th from noon to 2 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood followed by a funeral service with the Reverend Antranig Baljian of St. Stephen’s Armenian Church in Watertown officiating, at the funeral home at 2 PM. Burial will follow in Old Westwood Cemetery.
