MacKillop, Dorothy M.
Dorothy May MacKillop, resident of Plymouth for 12 years, and formerly of Quincy and Scituate, died Monday, March 31, 2014 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was 85. Dorothy was born September 28, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the three children of Duncan and Sarah A. (MacDonald) MacKillop, immigrants from Nova Scotia, Canada. She was a graduate of Girls High School in Boston and retired in 1990 after 34 years as the Assistant to the Living Page Editor for the Boston Globe. She was also a member of the Boston Globe Quarter Century Club. Dorothy was the sister of Edward MacKillop, and his late wife Helene, of Westwood, and the late Ruth E. Lund, and her husband George, of Walpole. She is also survived by her nephew Edward MacKillop Jr., and his wife Denise, and their two daughters, Rachel and Hannah, all of Mansfield. Private burial was in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
