Adleman, Muriel J.
Muriel Janet “Jan” (Fidler) Adleman, a resident of Westwood since 1963, died Monday, September 16, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Westwood. She was 87. Janet was born August 17, 1926 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Stanley R. and Janet (Dick) Fidler. From the mid 1970’s through the mid 1980’s she worked as a secretary for Senator Leverett Saltenstall. Jan was a member of the choir at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Westwood for 40 years. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, gardening, playing the piano, and spending her summers at Lake Winnipesaukee. Janet was the wife of the late Milton H. Adleman who predeceased her in 2001; the sister of the late Adele DeFrain, and the mother-in-law of the late Jeffry L. Eakin. She is survived by her three daughters, Dale L. Eakin of Wayland, Kim L. Allen, and her husband Paul, of Dedham, and Vicki L. DiMeo of Westwood; her two sons, David J. Adleman, and his wife Suzanne, of Laguna Beach, California, and Dana L. Adleman of Dedham;; her brother, Stanley Fidler of West Roxbury; her two sisters, Lorraine McHugo of Dedham, and Mary Dolan of Westwood; six grandchildren, Lynnsey, Derek, Whitney, Brendon, Paige, and Laura; and her great granddaughter, Julianna. Services and interment in New Westwood Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to VNA Care Hospice, 5 Federal Street, Danvers, MA 01923 would be appreciated.
