A funeral service at the funeral home with the Reverend Stephen Dale of St. Stephen’s Methodist Church officiating will follow the visitation and burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Donations in Ruth’s memory to St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, 5160 Washington Street, West Roxbury, MA 02132 would be appreciated.
Ruth was an unbelievable lady. She never had a cross word for anyone. When you saw her, she made you feel like the most important person in her world. Everyone thinks that they were her favorite, because she made you feel that way. She epitomized being a Christian. Rest in Peace sweet lady.
Love,
Donna Monteiro (Gene’s Donna)

Only met her once or twice when I was very young (pre-teen) when she was with hubby, George. George was a member of the Samoset Canoe Club as was my dad, Warren. This is where I met Ruth.
My heart-felt sympathies to the Byers clan.

To the Byers family:
It was a privilege to have known Ruth. She was a good friend to my mother for many years. I had the pleasure of her company a number of times over the years and always found her charming and engaging.
She had the good fortune of a long life.
I was sorry not to have been able to attend the wake or service.
Please accept my sincere sympathy.
Ruth was a friend of Donna Jean Swendsboe (our late mom) We are glad she had such good life.
