Scolnick, Helen M. (Donnelly) Packard
Helen M. (Packard) Scolnick, a lifelong resident of Roslindale, died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Dedham. She was 97 years old. Helen was the daughter of the late William and Helen M. (MacLachlan) Donnelly. She graduated from high school and Boston Clerical School in Jamaica Plain. Helen worked as a secretary for McGraw-Hill Publishing in Boston for 17 years. She was a member of Stratford Street United Church in West Roxbury all of her life and loved to travel around the world. Helen was predeceased by her husband Philip Scolnick and her son David L. Packard, Boston Fire Department. She is survived by her grandsons Joseph Packard of Dedham and Dennis Packard of Dedham; and her daughter-in law Dorothy Packard also of Dedham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11 am at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham followed by burial in Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Helen’s memory may be made to Stratford Street United Church, 77 Stratford St., West Roxbury, MA. 02132.
