Favreau, William L.
William Louis Favreau, a resident of Westwood for the past 37 years, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. He was 84. Bill was born June 17, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of Edward and Elizabeth (Shaughnessy) Favreau. He served in the US Army from 1946 to 1948 and in the Army Reserves until 1952. Bill was a master electrician who started working as a repairman for Steinards Organs in Boston. He worked as the Assistant Vice President of the Proof Department at Norfolk County Trust Company, which became Baybank Norfolk Trust Company, from 1975 until his retirement in 1989. Bill volunteered as a chaplain at the Caritas Norwood Hospital and at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood. He was also a hospice volunteer. Bill is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lori G. (Whitehouse); and nieces and nephews Judy Beale, Peter Favreau, Suzanne Dunham, Bobbi Beaudet, Kate Benson, Mark Favreau, Patti Gosselin, Carole McCann, Chrissy Comer, Janice Mullholland, Teri Maki, and Beth Wuebbolt. He was the uncle of the late Margaret Carroll and the late Nancy Holtorf, and the brother of the late Elizabeth Brawley, and the late Edward, Robert, John and Richard Favreau. Visiting hours Friday, November 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street. Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home Saturday at 8 AM and proceed to St. Denis Church, 157 Washington Street, Islington for Bill’s Mass of Christian Burial at 9 o clock. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, 10 Chandler Street, Boston, MA 02116 or to the Center for Eye Research, 50 Staniford Street, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114 would be appreciated.

My sincerest sympathies for the loss of Bill. He was my Dad’s dearest friend and also an important person during my childhood. I will always be grateful for the touching eulogy he gave when my Dad passed. We all shall have many happy memories of him.
