Harms, Evelyn
Evelyn (Scanlon) Harms, a resident of Roslindale for over 50 years, died Monday, October 8, 2012 at her daughter’s home in Roslindale. She was 81. Evelyn was born January 13, 1931 in Queens, New York, the daughter of William and Sophia (Beaury) Scanlon. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Harms and the last surviving of the nine children of William and Sophia. Evelyn is survived by her two sons, Robert G. Harms of Roslindale, and Stephen M. Harms of Hyde Park; three daughters, Maureen A. Cain of Rhode Island, Carleen S. Harms of Vermont, and Diane C. Chiasson of Roslindale; six grandchildren, Edward Butler, James Butler, Lauren Duarte, Nicole Chiasson, Stephen Chiasson, and Michael Chiasson; as well as several great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 4 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale. Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home Friday at 9 AM and proceed to Holy Name Church, 1689 Centre Street, West Roxbury for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o’ clock. Interment will follow in the Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery in West Roxbury.

She was a wonderfully warm and genuine person, I am grateful I got to know her.
