Fredriksen, W. Sylvia
W. Sylvia Fredriksen, a longtime resident of Westwood, and formerly of Roslindale, died Monday, December 29th, 2008 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth after a brief illness. She was 90. Sylvia was born in Boston on April 16, 1918, a daughter of the late Olaf Benjamin and Vendla (Matttson) Anderson. She was the wife of the late Karl Johan Fredriksen . Sylvia was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Dedham, a member of Three Crown Lodge of the Order of Vasa, and of the Viking Club, Stenkil Lodge of Braintree. She is survived by her two sons, Karl O. Fredriksen of Foxboro, and Erik J. Fredriksen of Derry, New Hampshire; her four daughters, Vendla Margeson of Wareham, Martha Hanson of Gilford, New Hampshire, Linnea Richardson of Wrentham, and Karin Sullivan of Hingham; her sister Margot Johnson of Westwood; 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Friday, January 2nd from 3-6 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Sylvia’s funeral will be Saturday at 10 AM at the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 916 Main Street (Route 228) Hingham. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory to the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 916 Main St., Hingham, MA 02043 or to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 950 East St, Dedham, MA 02026 would be appreciated.
Karin, we were so sorry to hear about your loss. We feel blessed to have been able to see here just before Christmas,it was a pleasure to talk with her, and to she that she hadn’t missed a step. You are living testimony to what a wonderful lady she was. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
