Virginia has been a friend of my mother Grace’s for about 50 years. They started out as church friends at the Roslindale Congregation Church and were in a womens guild for many years.
I always will remember Virginia for her generousity and unselfish devotion to her church. Along with many things that she did for church, and there were many, she would also pick up parishinors that could not get to church for Sunday service and worked with the food pantry.
She was a kind woman with a no nonsense type of way. She was a get things done women without making a fuss about it.
I have wonderful memories about the church, between Sunday class to church fairs and events. We were fortunate to have this foundation with these wonderful women.
The Roslindale Congregation Church is a very different church today but I will always remember the great times we had there because of the “church ladies” and their devotion to family and their church.
The Flagg family is in my thoughts and prayers at this time of sorrow.
I met Virginia (Gram) through my daughter Jennifer; after Jen became a member of the Flagg family.
I would see Virginia occasionally when Jen & her husband, Warren, had family functions at their home.
I took an immediate liking to Virginia and enjoyed our conversations whenever we got the chance to see one another.
She was a soft-spoken, caring lady who brought a smile to many faces. She will be missed!!!
My deepest sympathies to the Flagg family.
My deepest sympathies to the whole family. Ginnie meant a great deal to me and our friendship. I will miss her dearly.
I appreciated Virginia’s friendship over the years. She will be sorely missed. Till we meet again. Edna Heeg
Our sincerest condolences and may the remembrance of her life be a celebration.
We knew ‘Mrs. Flagg’ through the West Roxbury YMCA as we grew up in the 50’s with her children. She and Mr. Flagg were truly members of ‘The Greatest Generation’; people of selflessness and kindness. Although we’ve not been back to the Y for quite a while, we’re sure the office and meeting rooms echo with the Spirits of both your parents. Our parents, Grace and John Magee, also felt blessed knowing the Virginia and Warren. Their goodness set an example for all of us. the ‘Magee Girls’ (Marilyn and Elaine)
On behalf of the Borman family, we wish to express our deepest sympathy on the passing of your mother. Leslie, Fred and Nancy
My deepest sympathies to all of the Flagg family members and particularly my friend, Susan Flagg, and her fine boys, David and Stephen. Susan describes Virginia was an inspiring woman of great strength. I hope that memory conveys strengthens upon her descendants and friends.
Best,
Mary Carter
