Judy was born in Boston and was the daughter of the late Robert & Mary Jane (Agee) Shreve. She graduated from Dedham High School with the Class of 1959, the Quincy School of Nursing, and from the Henry Peabody School of Nursing. A majority of Judy’s nursing career, over 20 years, was at Glover Hospital in Needham, now the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She also worked with the Dedham Visiting Nurses Association, Dr. Farr’s medical practice in Needham and in private nursing. She retired in 2005. Judy was a life member of the Bay State Antique Auto Club, a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, and a den mother for the Boy Scouts in Dedham. She enjoyed going camping, sewing and quilting. Most of all she loved her family. Judy is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, William G. Stevens of Dedham; her children Robert W. and his wife Karen Stevens of Rockland, Mark K. and his wife Julie Tidemand-Stevens of Brockton, and Kimberly A. “Wisniewski” Stevens of Dedham; and her sister Betty-Jane Shreve, and her partner Nancy Johnson of Cape Elizabeth, ME. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ryan M. Wisniewski, Alyssa C. Wisniewski, Derek King and Jessalyn King. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 1-4 pm at the Endicott Estate, East Street, Dedham. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Judy’s memory may be made to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation, 269 Hanover Street, Building 3, Hanover, MA. 02339.

Bill and Family,
I am very sad to hear of your loss. I lost my beloved Mom in 2010. My impression was that Judy, like my Mom, brought much joy and happiness to her family and friends. They never met in this life, but I think maybe they are enjoying each others company now.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Love,
The Egans

Bill I am sorry to hear of your loss. You need to focus on all the great times you had together
Judy and I worked the night shift together at the old Glover for many years. She was a wonderful nurse and always was full of tales about her family that she clearly loved so very much. May the strength that she had carry over to all of you as she would have wanted. May she rest in peace….her work here is done.

Bill and family:
I remember when I first met Judy at “Glover”. She was my go to girl in Cardiology. She was a great lady. I think heaven needed more nurses and she is one of the best.
She has a very special place in heaven. Thinking of you.
Dawn
So sorry for your loss. {bsaac}
To the Stevens family, especially Kim and Mark:
Thank you all for your meaningful influences on my life, however brief. It only took one short visit to know your mom was the best. Take care and carry on. Sorry so late.
