Barbara Ann (Bell) Leith, a resident of Dedham for 45 years, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at the Clark House in Westwood. She was 83. Barbara was born November 15, 1928 in Sarasota, Florida, a daughter of Floyd Lee and Grace (Driver) Bell. She grew up in Boston and, after her marriage, spent the rest of her life in Westwood and Dedham. Barbara was a member of the Chilton Club, the Dedham Country and Polo Club, the Ladies Committee of the Museum of Fine Arts, the Junior League, the Vincent Club, the Fox Hill Garden Club, and many other organizations. She devoted much of her later life supporting the Boston Symphony Orchestra with her late husband. Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Royal Willis Leith Jr., and the devoted mother of Royal W. Leith, III and his wife Mary Joan, of Cambridge, John Allen Leith, and his wife Brenda, of East Walpole, and Alexander King Leith, and his wife Eileen, of Dedham. Barbara was the loving grandmother of Christopher, Alexandra, David, Andrew, Benjamin, James, William and Thomas, and the “adopted” mother to Robert John Wright and Karen Fogel, and grandmother to Thomas and Catharine Wright. She was the sister of the late Betty Barry. Burial will be private. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 19th at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Church in Dedham. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 59 Court St, Dedham, MA 02026 would be appreciated.
