Fitzpatrick, Ronald W.
Ronald William “Fitzie” Fitzpatrick, a resident of Canton since 1996, and formerly of Dedham, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Attleboro. He was 76. Ronald was born June 7, 1935 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of John and Rose (Farren) Devine. Ronald started working for Cullen Crane Company of Boston, and has worked for Shaughnessy and Ahern of South Boston as a truck driver and rigger for almost 40 years until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of Local 25 of the Teamsters Union in Charlestown. In his younger years Ronald enjoyed skiing and in his latter years his interest was in roller blading, and he always enjpyed tinkering with his cars. He used to spend every evening after work at Castle Island in South Boston. Ronald was the husband of the late Dorothy Ann (Lockhart) and the former husband of the late Elsie (Bowman). He is survived by two sons, William Fitzpatrick of Florida, and Shawn Fitzpatrick, and his wife Valerie, of Middleton; three daughters, Margaret “Maggie” Bornstein, and her husband Gerald, of Peabody, Robin McLeod, and her husband Robert, of Wrentham, and Shannon Fitzpatrick of Mansfield; his sister, Carol Venable, and her husband Mike, of Palm Desert, California; his ten grandchildren, Danny Bornstein, Katie Fitzpatrick, Kristin Bornstein, Eddie Currie, Anthony Fitzpatrick, Jake Currie, Jason Bornstein, Derek McLeod, Hailey McLeod, and Nevaeh Spoor; and his three great grandchildren, Lakynzee Calhoun, Jaydan Bornstein, and Noah Bornstein. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, April 4th from 10 AM till noon at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham followed by his funeral service at the funeral home at Noon. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society. 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 would be appreciated.
