Mikulski, Albie A.
Albie Anthony Mikulski, a resident of Dedham for over 40 years, died Friday at Highgate Manor in Dedham. He was 85. Albie was born in Boston and was the son of the late Lawrence and Domincella (Romaka) Mikulski. He joined the United States Navy in 1944, serving during World War II, for which he received the Asiatic Pacific Area Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, and the American Area Medal. After the war he reenlisted in the reserves and was honorably discharged in 1954. Albie was a Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 33 years and worked in Roxbury and Needham. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 2017 and the Disabled American Veterans #42 both in Dedham. Albie was a volunteer driver for the D.A.V. van for the West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain VA Hospitals. He was predeceased by his wife Mary E. (Minihan) Mikulski. Albie is survived by his family Daniel Linnell of Dedham, Mary Wells of Norwood, Catherine Cyr of Randolph, Bobby Mikulski of Worcester, and John Mikulski of Millbury. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 1 great grand daughter. He was the brother of the late Lawrence and John Mikulski. Visiting hours will be held Monday 4-8 pm at Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Funeral Tuesday from the funeral home at 8 am with a Mass of Christian burial at 9 O’clock at St. Mary’s Church, 420 High Street, Dedham. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
