John L. Magee, Sr., a resident of Westwood, died on November 28, 2011 with his family by his side. He was 85. Born in Boston to the late John and Laura (Goess) Magee. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy Seabees. Mr. Magee was a sergeant with the Boston Police Department for 33 years, retiring in 1984. John was the beloved husband of Rita M. (Tagliaferro) with whom he raised 2 children, John L., Jr. of Haverhill and Kenneth R. of Burlington. He was the devoted grandfather of Marcia A. Hughes of Billerica and the great grandfather of Amber and Andrew Hughes. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Monday at 9 AM from the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High St., Westwood followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 o’clock at St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St., Westwood. His burial will be in New Westwood Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 4 to 8PM.
