Gorman, Philip
Philip Francis Gorman, a resident of Westwood since 1963, died Tuesday, November 25th, 2008 at his home in Westwood. He was 73. Phil was born in Boston on June 8, 1935, a son of the late A. Charles and Margaret (Ford) Gorman. He graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and studied to become an electrician for Local 103 of the International Brotherhood of Electical Workers in Dorchester, where he has been a member for 48 years. He retired in 1992. Phil was a member of the Norwood Elks Club. He is survived by his wife, Diane Christine (Hyder) Gorman; his son, Philip F. Gorman Jr. of Westwood; his two daughters, Christine Newton, and her husband Donald, of Franklin, and Ellen M. Gorman of Westwood; his brother, Charles Gorman of Marshfield; and his four grandchildren, Karley, Maddison, and Conner Newton, and Jaeda Gorman. Visiting hours Friday from 4-8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home Saturday at 8 AM and proceed to St. Denis Church, 157 Washington Street, Westwood for his Mass of Christian Burial at 9 o clock. Interment will follow in New Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Kidney Foundation, 129 Morgan Drive, Norwood, MA 02062 would be appreciated.
