Khouri, Bernice M.
Bernice Mary (Yesukevich) Khouri, a resident of Roslindale for over 50 years, died Monday, October 24, 2011 at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a brief illness. She was 92. Bernice was born January 7, 1919 in Grafton, Massachusetts, one of the seven children of Frank and Ursula Essex (Acharicule) Yesukevich, immigrants from Lithuania. Bernice graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1936 and took courses in business which prepared her to spend over 20 years as a bookkeeper for the American Academy of Arts and Sciences until her retirement in 1988. Bernice lived for her family. She also enjoyed playing cards – gin rummy was a favorite – doing word puzzles, sewing and gardening. Bernice was the wife of the late Alexander Khouri, who predeceased her in 1991, and the sister of the late John Hunter, the late Adam Yesukevich, the late Marsela Yesukevich, the late Anna Jankouskas, and the late Helen Baran. She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra S. Moore of Attleboro, and Judith Anne Wilson, and her husband David, of Roslindale; her four grandchildren, Daniel Wilson, Katie Wilson, Richard Moore, and his wife Julie, and Debi Moore; and her great granddaughter, Madeline Moore. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at a time to be announced at St. John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington Street, West Roxbury followed by burial in the Garden at Gethsemane Cemetery, Baker Street, West Roxbury, In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Bernice Khouri to The Glaucoma Foundation, 80 Maiden Lane, Suite 700, New York, New York, 10038 www.glaucomafoundation.org would be appreciated
