Florence Catherine Mary McLellan, of Westwood, died Monday, September 5, 2011 at the Charlwell Nursing Home in Norwood.  She was 83.  Florence was born May 13, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the three children of James A. and Margaret (Jamieson) McLellan.  She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Roxbury, Massachusetts with the Class of 1946.  Florence worked as a secretary for United Fruit Company, and later for Factory Mutual Insurance Company in Norwood.  She enjoyed collecting dolls, crafts, and sewing, a skill which she used to repair the altar cloths at her church, St. Denis, where she also sang in the choir.  She also was a frequent participant in activities at the Westwood Senior Center.  Florence is survived by her sister Margaret C. “Claire” Albers, and her husband John, of Westwood, and her brother, James McLellan of Waltham.  Visiting hours will be held Friday, September 9th from 7 to 9 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street  (Route 109), Westwood.  Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home Saturday at 9 AM and proceed to St. Denis Church, 157 Washington Street (Route 1A), Islington for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o clock.  Interment will follow in Old Westwood Cemetery.
