Morgner, Mary L.
Mary Loretta (Hitt) Morgner, a resident of North Easton for the past four years, and formerly of Dedham for over 60 years, died Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Brockton after a long illness. She was 87. Mary was born and grew up in Revere, Massachusetts where she graduated from Revere High chool. She worked briefly at the Naval Shipyard in Chelsea before working for several years as a candy packer for the Ellen Esta Candy Company in Dedham. Mary was an avid card player who also enjoyed playing cribbage. Mary was the wife of the late Harold Morgner who predeceased her in 1983, and was the oldest of her siblings, all of whom she outlived. She was the sister of the late Charles, Frank, and Richard , and the late Adeline Nickerson. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Dianne Scholl, and her husband Leonard, of Natick, and Charlyne Leitner, and her husband Alfred, of Brockton; her two grandchildren, Douglas A. Scholl, and his wife Angela, and Stephanie M. Scholl; and her three great grandchildren, Kyle, Mackenzie, and Julia. Visiting hours will be held Monday, May 23rd from 10 AM to noon at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham with her funeral service to be held at noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery in West Roxbury. Donations in Mary’s memory to the Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368 would be appreciated.
