I was shocked and saddened to hear of Bob’s passing, I will miss his many visits each week and our long talks. Bob was and will always be a favorite childhood memory for all of us ” kids” in Dedham, including my own,who loved to talk with Bob while getting his haircut , about fishing. He was an outstanding guy,a true gentleman who had a kind word for everyone. He is an Icon in East Dedham and will be sadly missed and never forgotten. Thought and prayers for Bob, his family and all who knew and loved him.

He will be missed by all. He was always able to make everyone smile. As Bob would say, “This is not good-bye, I will see you later.”

My family just heard about the passing of your dad. We are truly sorry for your loss. “Bob the Barber” will always have a special place in our hearts. He was truly the most kind man and we will always remember,as many will, dropping in at the barber shop, spinning in the chair, getting a sip of water and a lollipop. He always had a smile and truly cared about every kid that stopped by. Especially knowing where we came from, he always looked out for our dad and for us. He touched everyone’s heart in a way that will be treasured forever. He will be greatly missed.

    Love,
Debbie, Bernie, Lynn, & Michelle Girard

    Susan and The Kinsella Family,

I am truly saddened, just hearing the news of your dad. He was such a constant in the community, and always helped others just by being there to listen and smile. As a young teenager, we used to go in the shop to say hi, or just wave going by. He never judged, only offered a friendly smile. He was part of our childhood, and made us feel safe. My prayers are with you all. We will miss him.

    To Bob’s Family,

I just heard (at Speedy Mkt.) that Bob passed away. I was shocked. Bob did me a favor and gave me a haircut Saturday morning April 31st. He was so full of life and looked great. As always, we talked about just everything. Also Bob was showing me how a robin was building a nest, a tree that needed trimming and the garden. I miss him teribly already. My sincerest condolences to all of you.
