Lomas, Louise M.
Louise May (Anastos) Lomas, a longtime resident of West Roxbury, died Friday, April 15th, 2011 at the Armenian Nursing Home in Jamaica Plain after a long illness. She was 89. Louise was born May 11, 1921 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the two daughters of Joseph and Hattie Louisa (Bartlett) Anastos. She graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and worked for Monroe Stationers and Printers before working as an assembler for Farrington Manufacturing Company for 30 years until her retirement. Louise was a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, having served as Worthy Matron for both Contentment Chapter of Dedham and Samoset Chapter of Norwood. Louise was the wife of the late Clarence Belmont Lomas who died in 1983 and she is survived by her younger sister, Dolores M. King of West Roxbury. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, April 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM , with an Eastern Star Service at 7:30 PM, at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale. Louise’s funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 AM at the First Baptist Church of Jamaica Plain, followed by burial in Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain. Donations in Louise’s memory to the First Baptist Church of Jamaica Plain, 629 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 would be appreciated.
