Williams, Marla J.
Marla J. Williams, a resident of Roslindale for over 3 years, died Friday, March 11, 2011, peacefully at home, surrounded by her sons and family. She was born in Tokyo, Japan and was the daughter of the late Russell R. & Lois A. (Davis) Simpson. Marla received her PH D in Spanish Literature at Indiana University. She lived in Ohio and Spain for many years. Recently she was a Professor at Tufts University in Medford where she taught Spanish Literature for 3 years. Services have been omitted per her request. She was predeceased by her husband, a CW2 Pilot, the late Franklin C. Williams. She is survived by her sons Curtis D. Williams of Tempe, AZ and Daniel B. Williams of New York, NY.; her sister Dorothy S. Beehner of Columbus, Ohio and her brother Michael G. Simpson of Italy. Marla is also survived by her devoted dog Rosco. I worked with Marla at Tufts. Although we did not have much time together, I can tell you that she was a fantastic teacher and a wonderful person. I am very saddened by her passing.

Marla holds a special place in my heart…
We lived and worked in Indiana.
Curtis played sports with my son.
Just now learning of her death…and feeling down.
