Carro, Edward
Edward Carro, a resident of Westwoood for 50 years, died Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011 at the Norwood Hospital. He was 85. Edward was born June 13, 1925 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the five children of Joseph and Sarah (Solomon) Carro. He graduated from Dorchester High School for Boys and joined the Marines during World War Two. Edward was an owner and appliance repairman for Central Appliance in Brighton until his retirement 22 years ago. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and animals but he also enjoyed music and was an old movie buff, especially liking westerns. He was the brother of the late Benjamin Franklin Carro, the late Ann Schatz, and the late Frances Oppenheim. Edward is survived by his wife, Maria (Seura) Carro; his son, Steven A. Carro, and his wife Maureen, of Bridgewater; his daughter, Amy E. Crowley of Salem; his sister, Pearl Levine of Milton; his five grandchildren, Melissa Macphail, and her husband Richard, Sarah Woodhouse, Daniel Carro, Zachary Carro, and Clayton Carro; and his three great grandchildren, Jamison, Tristan, and Phoebe Macphail. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130 would be appreciated.
Steve, Maureen, Danny, Zach, Clay and all- So sorry to hear of Mr. Carro’s passing. Friends, Family and funny stories help tremendously. You are in our thoughts.
