Knight, Ruth
Ruth (Reynolds) Knight, a resident of Dedham, MA for 46 years and more recently a resident of Branford then East Haven, CT, died Friday Nov.26th in Connecticut Hospice in Brandord. She was 90. Ruth was born February 3, 1920 in Newton, MA, the only child of Deane S. and Alice Belle (Bigelow) Reynolds. She attended La Salle secretarial school. She met Sydney E. Knight at an adult church group and were married for 50 years. Ruth was a secretary until she had children and was able to be a stay-at-home mom until the girls reached high school age at which time she became a secretary of the Dedham School Dept, a position that she held for many years. After retiring from that position Ruth became the church secretary of Allin Congregational Church in Dedham until she moved to RI, and then later to CT. While in Branford, she volunteered at the First Congregational Church. Every new chapter in her life was an adventure that she made the most of with a positive atttitude, smile, and a sense of humor. She had a long and happy life, and we are grateful to have had her in our lives. Family and friends will miss her dearly, but will remember her fondly through so many wonderful shared memories. Ruth leaves her daughters: Virginia K. Sargent of Hermosa Beach, CA, Pamela K. Perry of Rockville, RI, and Cynthia L. Neely of Branford, CT, and step-daughter Carol Hogan of New Port Richey, FL; 10 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. A memorail service will be held on Sunday Dec.5 at 1pm at First Congregational Church in Branford, CT. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, MA.
