Borman, Edith
Edith (Hammond) Borman, a resident of Manomet for the past 20 years, and formerly of Jamiaca Plain, MA, died Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood after a brief illness. She was 85. Edith was born March 26, 1923 in Boston, MA to John and Ann Edith (Armstrong) Hammond. She graduated from Roslindale High School. She worked for 28 years as the office manager for Richard Homer & Company of Boston, a wool importing business. For 70 years she was an active member of the Roslindale Congregational Church where she also belonged to the Rosco Club and to the Women’s Guild. Edith was the wife of the late Fred Borman Jr. who died in 1986, and the sister of the late John Hammond, and the late Gladys Tetley. She is survived by her son, Fred Borman III, and his wife Nancy, of Northwood, New Hampshire; her two daughters, Leslie Treseler, and her husband Paul, of Plymouth, MA, and Nancy McKeown, and her husband Jim, of Ashland, MA; and her four grandchildren, Joseph Zambella, and his wife Tara, Noelle Borman, Kylie McKeown, and Jimmy McKeown. Visiting hours will be held from 4-8 PM Sunday, Oct 26th at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale. Edith’s funeral will be Monday at 10 AM at the Roslindale Congregational Church, 25 Cummins Avenue, Roslindale followed by burial in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in her memory to the Roslindale Congregational Church, 25 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, MA 02131 would be appreciated.
Edith was a kind and wonderful person who saw good in everyone. She will be sorely missed.
