Greeley, Mary E.
Mary Elizabeth (Phelan) Greeley a longtime resident of Norwood, and resident of West Roxbury passed away on September 17th at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood, she was 83. Mary was born on May 5, 1927 to Thomas and Mary (Pendergast) Phelan. Mary was a loving wife, mother and sister. Her family reflects that: “Mary Greeley was a great person. Our grandmother told us that a long time ago and it was true. She was a teacher who really cared about her students and coworkers. She was a loyal and dedicated friend to many. Mary spent many hours with family and friends playing cards, attending local theater productions, enjoying trips near and far, but most of all, Mary enjoyed other people’s company. Words people used to describe Mary Greeley are kind, thoughtful and caring. She was a wonderful woman–never afraid to be her own person. She will be greatly missed.” Mary is predeceased by her husband, Martin J. Greeley. She is survived by her children: Martin J. Greeley and his wife Virginia of Mansfield, John C. Greeley and his wife Kelley Cronin of Sudbury, Thomas E. Greeley of Springfield, Elizabeth M. Greeley of Dedham, Marcia A. Greeley of West Roxbury, and Barbara A. Greeley.
