Folsom Funeral Service

Eleanor E. Lashus, a lifelong resident of Roslindale, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Norwood Hospital in Norwood after a brief illness.  She was 87.  Eleanor was born March 10, 1923 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of Harry and Elsie (Simen) Lashus.  She graduated from the Boston Clerical School and worked for many years as secretary in a local law firm.  During World War Two Eleanor and her sister Helen worked with the USO entertaining the troops that were about to be deployed to the theatres of the war.  She was also a longtime active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Roslindale.  She was the sister of the late Carl and the late Helen P. Fitzgerald.  She is survived by several cousins.  Visiting hours will be held Wednesday Aug 18th from 6 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday at 10 AM at the Funeral Home followed by burial in the Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery, Baker Street, West Roxbury.  In lieu of flowers donations to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1195 Centre Street, Roslindale, MA 02131 would be appreciated.
