Zak, Blanche B.

Blanche B. (Sabina) Zak of Hyde Park, age 94 died at home, on May 7, 2024 after courageous battles with breast cancer and multiple myeloma. She was the wife of the late Edward W. Zak. They were married for 61 years before his passing in 2010. Mother of Michael B. Zak and his wife Barbara of Inman, S.C. and Mary Ellen Zak of West Dennis, Ma. Loving grandmother of Jason of Inman, S. C. and Kevin of Oahu.

Blanche was born in Brockton, Ma on April 4, 1930 to Michael and Anastasia (Macewicz) Sabina. She was 1 of eight children and the last living sibling: she was the sister of the late Joseph J. Sabina, Mary M.(Sabina) Leganowicz, Charlotte A. (Sabina) Ruskiewicz, Pauline (Polly) S. (Sabina) Fencer, Francis (Frank) Sabina, Edward A. Sabina, and Michael I. Sabina.

Blanche graduated from Brockton HS in 1948 and married in 1949. She moved to Hyde Park and lived there until her death. She went to nursing school after her children graduated High School. She graduated from the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital School of Nursing. She worked with the chronically ill patients and the elderly. She retired in 1995. She loved to cook, read recipe books, and prepare meals in the Polish tradition for the holidays. She was very proud of her Polish heritage and maintained the traditions and customs. She was also a talented seamstress and quilter among other crafts.

She is loved by her many Godchildren, nieces, and nephews, and was affectionately known as Auntie Bobba. She will be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Monday, May 13th at 11 am at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham followed by interment in Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.  Visitation from 10 to 11 am prior to the funeral.

    My Condolences to Mary Ellen and Michael your Mom was such a beautiful person who I remember as always smiling happy and so loving if family. She was always so nice to me and I really liked her so very much May she RIP and join the rest of the crew in HEAVEN
    I will keep her in my prayers as well as Mary Ellen and Michael during this difficult time for them I send my Love to you all
