Christensen, Amy B.
Our beloved Amy Beth Christensen, of Norwood, died Sunday, November 5, 2023, at her home. Amy was born December 6, 1966, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She spent her early years in Tonawanda and Getzville, NY. In 1976, she moved with her family to Westwood, MA and graduated from Westwood High School in 1985. She later earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts from U Mass Boston. She has been a resident of Norwood for decades.
Amy lived life to the fullest. She delighted in traveling and spending time with friends and family. Full of quick wit and humor, Amy loved her time working at the Comedy Connection in Boston. Her years employed by National Amusements brought her much enjoyment and treasured friendships. Being “Aunt Amy” was Amy’s favorite title and she adored her nieces and nephews with all her heart. She was an avid Red Sox fan and an armchair Jeopardy champ. Many of the things that Amy enjoyed most in this world were, eventually, out of her reach due to her neurological condition. As a result of that, her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, grew, and it led her to be more serious about her faith. She realized that He was and is her only hope in life and in death.
Amy is survived by her mother, Joy Christensen of Norwood; her brother Dave Christensen, and his wife Phoebe, of Attleboro; her sister, Sue Crowe, and her husband Paul, of Evington, VA; her nieces and nephews, DJ Crowe, and his wife Virginia, Daniel Christensen, and his wife, Hannah, Drew Crowe, Timothy Christensen, Laura Crowe, and Julie Crowe; her great-nephew, Kyle, and her great-niece, Maya; and other cherished extended family members and friends, including her best friend since 4th grade, Linda Fitzhenry.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Amy’s Memorial Service, followed by a time of fellowship, on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 2:30 pm at the United Church of Norwood, 595 Washington Street, Norwood. Private interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Norwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amy’s church, Parkway Presbyterian Church, 16 Cohasset St, Roslindale, MA 02131, or online at www.parkwaypresbyterian.com/giving

With our love, “The Boss Lady” and “Fr. Bob”. ❤️
Amy’s life is a testament to the hope we have in Jesus. We rejoice that her suffering has come to an end and that she is with her Savior. Sue,the example of the years of devotion by you to best care of your sister is so beautiful and God pleasing. May God comfort and strengthen you and your family. May His peace that passes all our understanding wash over you.
I was privileged to have spent so much time with Amy and her amazing family over the last year. Amy managed to make me laugh with her quick wit and hysterical sense of humor. Amy, Sue, and Joy taught me so much about faith, family, and friendship. Amy trusted in God completely as does her family. I will lean on that today as I’m missing my time with Amy. Amy will not be forgotten as she remains in the heart of so many people.
Joy and Family,
I am sadden to hear about the passing of Amy. She has gone to her heavenly home and I am sure that Pastor Bill welcomed her with open arms.
God Bless!
My heart is broken. Amy you will be missed.
I am very sad to hear about Amy. I worked with her at Shaw’s when I was in high school and was pleasantly surprised to run into her at the Comedy Connection years later when I went there for a show. I have fond memories of Amy and will miss her very much.
I feel so blessed to have been able to care for Amy this past year and meet her Amazing family! Amy was such a courageous woman who never complained about her situation. She and her family have retaught me about my faith in God and the importance in family. I will miss our late night talks and her wonderful sense of humor. Amy will remain forever in my heart. ❤️
