Boncek, Thomas
Thomas M. Boncek “Stubba” of East Dedham, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2023. He was the son of the late Thomas N. and Elizabeth Boncek of East Dedham, and the brother of the late Dennis Boncek of East Dedham.
Thomas was a resilient man whose journey in life was a testament to his inherent strength and determination. He overcame a tragic accident when he was just two years old and inspired those around him with his humble courage. During his youth, Thomas was an altar boy at Saint Mary’s and an exceptional baseball and hockey player. Thomas was a remarkable contractor, a former paramedic and a community role model for youth athletes. Thomas dedicated over a decade of coaching to the Dedham Youth Baseball League. During his free time he could be seen umpiring at the baseball fields all over Eastern Massachusetts. In his free time, Thomas enjoyed bowling, golfing and summer vacations in Maine.
Thomas leaves behind his five sisters; Pauline Boncek of Vero Beach, FL; Brenda Boncek of Quincy; Trish Boncek of Quechee, VT; Laura Boncek of West Lebanon, NH and Sandra Hume of Fort Collins, CO. Loving uncle to Danielle, Kendra, Dennis, Paul, Nicholas, Jamie, Shaunna, Luke, Sky, Wilder and Timber. Loving great-uncle to Darren, Mason, Landon, Cylan, Tukker, Noah, Ava Grace, Bruce, Jade, Cole and Emerson.
Visiting hours are at Folsom Funeral Home located at 87 Milton St., East Dedham, on Saturday, November 11 from 9:00 – 11:00 am with funeral services to follow at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment to follow at Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Animal Rescue League of Boston, 55 Anna’s place, Dedham, MA 02026, or online at www.arlboston.org.
