I am so saddened to hear of the loss of Mr Nietzel. We met years ago when I worked at CVS in Walpole and he was such an interesting man. Enjoyed talking to him whenever I would see him. He will be remembered with fondness and a smile. My thoughts and prayers to you all. With deepest sympathy, Nancy (of Walpole Floral and Garden Center).

I always knew Mr Nietzel would be in when spring came because I would save the lilac chiffon geraniums for him. He will surely be missed. My condolences to the family. Rita (Walpole Floral and Garden Center).

Oh how much we will miss sitting with our dear friend, Oscar, listening to his many wonderful stories and sharing laughs with him. Rest in peace in heaven where the grass is as green and lush as you’ve always loved it to be.

I met the Nietzels when I was 4 years old, over 50 years ago, and grew up in the house next door. I’ll always remember that Mr. Nietzel included me in so many activities with Steven and Mark. Just a few memories from childhood among many: Going to the drive-in, going to the family campsite in New Hampshire, Boy Scouts, DeMolay.
All through our lives we identify role models; Mr. Nietzel was one of mine since I was a teenager.
Mr. Nietzel always had a positive attitude. At home or at work, when others seemed puzzled or overwhelmed, he had a unique ability to apply logic and reason to work through a challenge.
Through ups and downs, Mr. Nietzel found ways to smile, and bring smiles to others. We enjoyed a lot of laughs with him.
Our love and sympathy to the Nietzels.

To Mark, Karen, Nicole, Andrea and the Nietzel family,
Mark, I have heard you talk about your Dad so many times I know you had great love and respect for him. He was just the kind of man all children should have had for a Dad. What a blessing to have so many wonderful memories to enjoy. We are so sorry for your loss and sorry to not be able to join you today at his memorial. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. With our deepest sympathy and friendship,
    Lynn and Bob Strider

    To Mrs. Nietzel and family,
I had the honor of driving Oscar to some of his treatments at the Falkner Hospital. He was one of those people who from the time he got in the car he put you at ease and in moments the conversation was about anything but his illness. He had many interesting stories to tell, but he would always have a smile when he would mention his loving family. Dorothy, I am sorry I didn’t get to meet you. May the strength and support you get from your family and friends help you through this most difficult time.
