Robert Thomas Ridge, a resident of Braintree, and formerly a longtime resident of Westwood, died Monday, June 5th, 2023 at Sunrise of Braintree Assisted Living Center. He was 84. Robert was born April 28, 1939 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the four sons of John Joseph and Mildred M. (Allen) Ridge. After high school Robert studied at Wentworth Institute in Boston and worked for 40 years as a civil engineer for the City of Boston. He enjoyed travelling, especially to Aruba, and spending time at his home on Cape Cod. Robert was the husband of the late Jill (Fitzgerald) Ridge, who predeceased him in 2016, and the brother of the late Francis J. Ridge and the late John J. Ridge. He is survived by his brother Timothy P. Ridge, and his wife Mona, of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; three nieces, Erin, Micaela and Suzanne Ridge; and two nephews, John and Stephen Ridge. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 to 11 am at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 o clock. Interment will be in New Westwood Cemetery, Westwood. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA , 02452 would be appreciated.
