Cynthia Jean Wong, a longtime resident of Norwood, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 27th at her home in Norwood. She was 66. Cindy was born September 1, 1956 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the four children of Richard A. and Beatrice (Chin) Wong. She attended Massasoit Junior College and then earned her cosmetology license after graduating from the Peabody School. Cindy worked for several years as a receptionist for Bechtel-Parsons-Brinkerhoff in Boston. She was a former Rainbow Girl, and a member of the Phillipine Fellowship and the Gospel Choir, both at Tremont Temple Baptist Church in Boston. She also was a volunteer at the Norwood Ecumenical Food Pantry. Cindy was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Norwood and currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Westwood. Cindy is survived by her two brothers, Brian R, Wong of Chelmsford, and Steven M. Wong of Naperville, Illinois; and her sister, Joanne G. Hilger of Natick. Cindy was the aunt of Samuel Wong and Rebecca Wong of Chelmsford, Carolyn Wong and Michael Wong of Columbus, Ohio, and Zachary Hilger and Alex Hilger of Natick. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, June 7th from 4 to 7 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Cindy’s funeral will be held Thursday, June 8th, at 11 am at the funeral home followed by interment in Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston.
