Airth, Dorothy
September 18, 1936 – January 11, 2022
Dorothy was born Sept. 18, 1936, in Norwood, MA. She was the youngest of seven children to Oscar Ragnar Eklund (who was born in Sweden) and Elna Ali Carlson, (born in Finland). Mom was a proud first generation American citizen who loved her God, family, country and heritage. She out lived all of her siblings and parents, a testimony of how well she loved and honored her Father and Mother. While many family members and friends were ill, Sue would selflessly care for them and their families throughout the decades. This was her ministry. We affectionately called her “Florence Nightingale”! She shined caring for her loved ones. Her favorite verse was “The JOY of the LORD is my strength.” (Neh. 8:10)
She was a devoted mother to her two daughters Cheryl and Robin and her son Alan. “Gigi” cherished her grandchildren Nicole Marie and Christopher Daniel as well as her beloved great granddaughters Kameron Marie, Grace Ashton, and Audrey Marie. She was overjoyed with her great-great granddaughters Kyra Nicole and Azariah Catherine Elizabeth Benjamin.
She was thrilled to see her beautiful great-great grand babies for the very first time while she was recovering. They were a breath of fresh life, just what she needed to boost her spirits!
Mother worked tirelessly throughout her life in the foodservices industry. She was always serving others. She loved to cook and bake and see her family gathered around the table for the holidays.
Mom loved to sing! She was a part of her church choirs throughout her life. She also sang with the “Sweet Adelines” and travelled for a few years competing.
Finally, we give all glory to our Heavenly Father because mother NEVER had covid nor was she ever vaccinated. We believe in the power of the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ by whose stripe we have been healed. (Is. 53: 5; 1 Pe. 2:24).
