Elaine Frances (Mahan) Carbone, a longtime resident of Hyde Park, died Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She was 75. Elaine was born March 29, 1946 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of John Vincent and Mary Helen (Malone) Mahan, immigrants from Ireland. She graduated from Hyde Park High School with the Class of 1964. Elaine was the wife of the late Joseph William Carbone who predeceased her in 2018and is survived by her two daughters, Julie Anne Helmar, and her husband Alan, of Norwood, and Suzanne Marie Carbone of Hyde Park; her brother, John V. Mahan Jr., and his wife Marlene, of Huntington Beach, California; her sister, Joan McLaughlin of Rockland; and her two grandchildren, Alan Joseph Helmar, and Elizabeth Alayne Helmar; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, January 12th from 4 to 8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home Thursday starting at 9 am and proceed with us to St. Pius X Church, 101 Wolcott Street, Milton for her funeral mass at 10 o clock. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 would be appreciated.
Julie so sorry for the loss of your mother and my cousin, she will surely be missed by all in the family Rita and I will try to be at the funeral home on Wednesday. God bless you and your family we pray for you every day Mike&Rita

Julie, I am so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. unfortunately we will not be able to take the trip from Connecticut for the funeral as we are all quarantining at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
