Desharnais, Katherine
Katherine Louise (Kerle) Desharnais, a resident of Hanson, and formerly of Dedham, died Friday, December 31, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Hanson. She was 92. Katherine was born June 29, 1929 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of Louis and Mary (McCartin) Kerle. She grew up in Jamaica Plain. Katherine worked as an assembler of jewelry boxes for Farrington’s in Jamaica Plain and moved to office work at Stewarts, a clothing distributor in Needham, and later in Hopkinton. Katherine was the wife of the late Edward Wilfred Desharnais to whom she was married for 52 years. He predeceased her in 2002. She is survived by her son, Edward W. Desharnais Jr., and his wife Lisa, of Halifax; three daughters, Diane Rusk of Hanson, Michele Frost , and her husband Brian, of South Carolina, and Renee Rusk, and her husband Robert of Florida; as well as 14 grand- children, and 5 great grandchildren. Katherine was the mother of the late Kathryn Boyden, and her late husband Robert, and was the final survivor of her five siblings, George, Frederick, Paul, and John Kerle, and Virginia Danforth. Visiting hours will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am Monday morning, January 10, 2022 at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. We will then proceed to St. Anne’s Church, 142 West Milton Street, Readville for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11 o clock. Interment will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
