Ross, Kenneth R.
Kenneth Robert Ross, a lifetime resident of Norwood, died November 16, 2021 at his home in Norwood. He was 102. Kenneth was born April 13, 1919 in Sydney, cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, a son of Robert Hector and Alena Belle (Morrison) Ross. His family moved from Nova Scotia to Norwood when Kenneth was three and he was a graduate of Norwood High School. He enlisted in the US Army and served as a technical sergeant in Company L, 410th Infantry Regiment in the European, African and Middle Eastern theatres. Kenneth was awarded the bronze service arrow, a bronze star and a purple heart. After his honorable discharge in 1945 Kenneth joined the US Post Office as a mailman where he worked for over 30 years. Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Marie (Kelley) Ross, as well as his brothers David and Douglas Ross, and his sister Betsy Bartemus. He is survived by his children, Kenneth R. Ross Jr., and his wife Maureen, of Walpole, Ann Marie Uhlar, and her loving husband Jack, of Walpole, Joanne Kelly, and her husband Jim, of West Roxbury, and John Ross, and his wife Kara, of Andover; his dear brother Donald Ross of Ohio, and his kind nephew David Ross of Norwood; as well as his 9 grandchildren. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to the First Baptist Church, 71 Bond Street, Norwood, MA 02062 would be appreciated.
Anne, Joanne, Ken, and John my thoughts snd prayers are with you all as you say goodbye to you dear father…..a remarkable kind man who filled your lives with joy. May you all take comfort in your memories .
