Theodore, James P.
a resident of Westwood, died Monday, November 15, 2021 at his home in Westwood. He was 85. James was born March 1, 1936 in Roxbury, Massachusetts the son of Albanian immigrants Paskal and Kleopatra (Botka) Theodore. He enlisted in the US Army when he was 17. James started working at Berkely Press, and spent most of his career as a printer at the Christian Science Monitor newspaper. He was a member of St. George’s Cathedral in South Boston. James was the beloved husband of Melinda (Lamb) and dear father of Kimberly Kennedy, and her husband Sean, of Westwood, and Christopher Theodore of Westwood. He was the proud grandfather of Nicholas, Theodore and William Kennedy, and dear brother of Sophia Theodore-Braunstein of Brookline, the late Louise Repucci, and the late Paul Theodore. Jim was a beloved husband, father and grampa whose favorite thing was spending time with his family, especially his three treasured grandsons who were the apple of his eye. Jim enjoyed many summers at his second home on Cape Cod. He never missed any of his grandson’s sporting events, and was their biggest fan. He loved to tell stories and reminisce about the old days with friends from his youth. Jim was a voracious reader who loved to visit the local library several times a week, and was always busy doing gardening or yard work or going for leisurely rides with his beloved wife Melinda. He loved photography and cooking. He loved to make his famous spaghetti for his grandsons as often as they requested it and kept his secret recipe to heart. His smile and laugh were infectious and he always had a twinkle in his eye and a kind, generous word for everybody that crossed his path. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, November 18th from 4-7 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High St, Westwood. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday at 10 am at the funeral home followed by interment in New Westwood Cemetery. Donations to the Westwood Land Trust Inc., PO Box 2616, Westwood, MA 02090 would be appreciated.
Melinda we are so sorry about our dear friend Jim.he was a great guy who would do anything for any one. We all three( George Adams ,billy Phillips and myself) all grew up together and would go to dances, parties ballgames or just hang around.there wasn’t anything anyone would not do for each other. We had great times wherever we went, we knew each other’s family and they treated all as one.we really are going to miss jimmy and hi laughs. He had something that would get everyone going. We are extremely sorry for not being able to attend, because of circumstances, but Melinda if you ever need anything please get in touch. I love you so much Jim Rich, George, billy
