Zimmerman, Donald B.
Donald Bronson Zimmerman, a resident of the Blake Estates in Hyde Park, died Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Brockton Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Brockton, Massachusetts. He was 80. Donald was born July 9, 1941 in Boston, Massachusetts a son of Arvid and Catherine (Allenspacker) Zimmerman. He grew up in Dedham and graduated with the Class of 1959 from Dedham High School. He attended the University of Maryland for a year before enlisting in the Airforce, and was honorably discharged four years later. Donald spent the next six years working in photo-intelligence for the CIA. He returned to civilian life and worked for twenty years as the Vice President of Credit Consultants. Don finished his career with a three year stint as the assistant credit manager for The Washington Group in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles. Don enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, vacations at Prince Edward Island with his family, and cooking for his friends at Blake Estates. He was the brother of the late Arvid Zimmerman Jr. and is survived by his brother Kenneth of Florida; his sister-in-law Agnes (Nancy Balfour) Zimmerman of Lakeville, Massachusetts: his nephews Michael Zimmerman, and his wife Sue, of Easton, Massachusetts, William Zimmerman, and his wife Denise, of Granger, Indiana, Thomas Zimmerman, and his wife Paula, of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and James Zimmerman, and his wife Laurie, of Plymouth, Massachusetts; his nieces, Patricia Ellen Zimmerman, and her companion, Peter Paquin, and Barbara Jean Donahue, and her husband Brian; as well as several cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service with military honors Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11 am at Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.
