Notarangelo, David

David Notarangelo, a longtime resident of Dedham, died Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at his home in Dedham after a long illness.  He was 63.  David was born March 7, 1958 in Dedham, Massachusetts, the only child of Mario and Eleanor (Lehmann) Notarangelo.  David was a self employed HVAC technician and travel agent.  He relished his yearly vacations to destinations around the world, and he especially enjoyed trips to Las Vegas.  David was the father of Nathan and Nicholas Notarangelo, both of Dedham, and was the dear friend of Dawnmarie Cole, and her husband Daniel, of Bellingham.  Visiting hours will be held Saturday, May 1st, 2021 from 1-3 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham followed by a Memorial Service in the Funeral Home at 3 pm.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 would be appreciated.

Hawkins, David Howe

David Howe Hawkins of Westwood, MA passed away on April 18, 2021 at the age of 96. Born in Springfield, he was the son of David Smith Hawkins and Primrose (Ennis) Hawkins. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Hawkins was the beloved husband of Nancy Osgood Hawkins and the dear father of Richard Hawkins and his wife Rebecca of Lexington and David Hawkins and his husband Rainer of Germany. He is also survived by his grandsons, Benjamin, William and Samuel. Service and interment will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to the Massachusetts Audubon Society, Drumlin Farm, 208 S Great Rd., Lincoln, MA 01773.

Soderstrom, Trudie K.

Trudie Kathryn (Rose)Soderstrom, 88 years old, of Dedham, MA, died peacefully on Friday, April 16 after courageously facing a two-year challenge with ALS. A longtime resident of Orleans and Walpole with degrees from Simmons College and Tufts University, Trudie worked as a nutritionist and then as a home-maker extraordinaire. Her passions included gardening and harvesting an over-abundance of flowers, fruits, and vegetables with her husband of 64 years, Rolf Soderstrom. She also loved creating amazing meals and gatherings with rich and humorous conversation, searching for seaglass and heart rocks on the outer beaches of Cape Cod, and traveling and learning about new cultures and religions. Throughout her life, she supported her family, friends and community in so many loving ways. In her death, she joins her parents, Carl Henry and Ottilie Kathryn (Mailandt) Rose and her brother and sister-in-law Ernest and Betsy Ciriack. She is survived by her husband Rolf Soderstrom, her son and daughter-in-law Mark and Lourdes Soderstrom of West Kingston, RI, her daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth Soderstrom and Steve Rothert of Nevada City, CA, her son and son-in-law Christian Soderstrom and Timothy Paquette-Soderstrom of Providence, RI, her daughter and son-in-law Elaine and Frank Anderson of Ann Arbor, MI, and eight wonderful, creative and smart grandchildren, all of whom inherited their grandmother’s love of cooking and the ocean. A private memorial and interment will be held in her honor. Memorial donations in Trudie’s name may be made to the Asssociation to Preserve Cape Cod.

Daisey, Edward L.

Edward Lora Daisey, 84, of Dedham, MA and Siasconset, MA, passed away April 5, 2021 with loved ones by his side. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Hill Daisey, and three daughters, Pamela Jo McMahon, Pandora Jean Daisey and Penney Jane Adams, three stepsons, David Hill, John Hill and Peter Hill, as well as 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his first wife, Jane Drew Daisey. Ed was born May 7, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of Captain Lora Alfred Daisey and Florence May (Murray) Daisey. He retired as President & CEO of Adhesives Research Inc in 2003 after eight years of tremendously successful management. He served on many Boards of non-profit organizations such as American Red Cross, York Foundation, United Way, York Health Foundation, White Rose Foundation, York County Alliance for Learning and the Better York Organization, Strand Capitol (also a member of Strand Capitol Personnel and Executive Committees), Literacy Council, Membership Committee of the Outdoor County Club, Chairman for the 2002 United Way Campaign Cabinet and York Collegiate member. He was previously the President of Loctite Corporation where he worked for 16 years. Prior to that he held the position of Vice President of Manufacturing for Hasbro Toys and held similar positions with Ingersoll Rand and Stanley Tools. He graduated from Windham College in Putney, Vt. He was a veteran, a mason, a lifelong sailor and a member of Lahinch Golf Club, The Great Harbor Yacht Club and Sankaty Golf Club. Success comes in many different forms. Ed’s greatest success was the way he lived life and his wisdom should not be limited to just those who knew him. Verdier, Claire M.

Claire M. Verdier, a longtime resident of Massachusetts, was born in Plaisence Haiti, May 8th 1943. Dear mother of Marie Antoine Verdier, sister of Germaine Verdier Michel of Connecticut, Jonathan Verdier, Joas Verdier, Mathilde Verdier of Norwood, Nancy Verdier Michel, Nelta Verdier and the late Colette Verdier. Devoted grandmother of James M. , Alain and Sasha Pierre-Louis and great grandmother of Gabriel and Henry Pierre-Louis, the sons of James M. and Jennifer Pierre-Louis. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. In her working years, Claire served her community as a teacher and certified nurses assistant for over 20 years. She passed away Saturday March 27th 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to briefly pay their respects at the  viewing Friday April 9th 6-8 PM at Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High St., Westwood and Funeral Mass, Saturday April 10th at 11 AM, St. Catherine Church, 547 Washington St., Norwood followed by interment in Highland Cemetery, Norwood.  The Funeral Mass and Committal Service at the cemetery will be livestreamed and may be viewed at www.harborview.live/http://www.harborview.live/

Watt, Mary

Mary Duncan Robertson Watt, a resident of Norwood, passed away on April 2, 2021 at the age of 98. Born June 5, 1922 in Dunfermline, Scotland, she traveled to the United States as a child with her parents, John and Mary (Duncan) Robertson and her sisters, Joanne and Peggy. She met her husband Ron at a dance in Boston where his ship was stationed for Her Majesty the Queen’s Royal Navy. They were married April 26, 1945. They traveled the world, Hong Kong where their son Stephen was born. She then settled in Glasgow Scotland until Ron finished his service for the Queen. They made their voyage to Massachusetts on board the ship and settled in Dedham and then Norwood where they had William, Sharon and Ian. She was a Registered nurse and worked at UPS and Norwood Nursing and Retirement Home. She enjoyed many dances and outings with family and friends. Trips to the Cape and Plymouth, the Scottish games in the summer and pipers in the parade! Whenever she heard the pipers she would sigh and say she missed her bonney Scotland home. She loved seeing Kate sing with her choir and Billy playing Lacrosse. Ryan and Heather loved to visit (MiMi) at home and sit on her lap. She was very proud of her children and was loved by everyone she met. She will be sorely missed by all. Mary is survived by her children William and his wife Marie, Ian Watt and Sharon Watt, all of Norwood. She was the devoted grandmother to Katelyn, William, Jr., Ryan and Heather and great grandmother to Kaleb. She was predeceased by her husband Ron Watt, her son Stephen and her sisters, Joanne Forrester and Peggy Wright. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM at the May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols St., Norwood. Mrs. Watt’s funeral service and interment will be private. Ierardi, Karin A.

Karin Anna (Scharwenka) Ierardi, a resident of Westwood, and formerly of West Roxbury, died Wednesday, march 31, 2021 at the Tobey Hospital in Wareham.  She was 82.  Karin was born November 6, 1938 in Berlin, Germany, a daughter of Wolfgang and Elli (Obenaus) Scharwenka.  She immigrated to the United Sates in her early thirties and worked for many years as a manager at Decelle’s in West Roxbury.  She was a longtime member of the Boylston Shul Verein in Walpole, and a longtime volunteer at the Deutsches Altenheim in West Roxbury.  She was a former president of the German American Ladies Society.  Karin was the wife of the late William Thomas Ierardi and is survived by her two sons, Michael A. Ierardi, and his wife Sheila, of Onset, and Anthony D. Ierardi, and his wife Andrea, of Dover; and her two granddaughters, Holly Mae Ierardi, and Emelina Oliveira, and her husband Schmeichel.  Services and interment in St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury were private.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 would be appreciated.

Jocus, Peter

Peter T. Jocus, 79, of Norwood, MA passed away on March 16, 2021. Loving husband of his late wife Deborah and devoted, proud father of Gabrielle, Sidra, and Deidre. Peter is also survived by his two sisters, Susan Jocus of North Carolina and Margaret Jocus of New Jersey and resting in peace with his five other siblings (Paul Jr., MaryAnne, Janet, Diane, and Thomas Jocus). A United States Air Force Veteran, Peter spent his life traveling the world and eventually settled down in the greater Boston area— a perfect home for his love of history, classical music, politics, photography, and bike riding. Peter is deeply loved and missed by those who knew him. DeAngelis, Charles

Charles A. DeAngelis, age 57, of Westwood, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 28, 2021 with his family by his side. Charlie was born on March 24, 1964 in Norwood, MA, and is the only son of Elizabeth (Lydon) DeAngelis and the late Charles A. DeAngelis. He was a lifelong resident of Westwood, where he graduated WHS class of 1982. He earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University as well as a MBA from Bentley University. He was employed for many years in the engineering /technology field, and was also the owner and founder of Dean Computer Services.

Before his illness, Charlie enjoyed the years he spent coaching football, baseball, and basketball. He was a proud New England Patriots fan and season ticket holder. He was also an active member at his local parish, St. Denis Church in Westwood.

Charlie leaves his wife Lori (Briggs) and his two sons, Charles “Chad” and John DeAngelis, all of Westwood. He is also survived by his sister Catherine Jarvis and her husband Jack, of Wrentham, his sister Lisa Greig and her husband Christopher, of Needham, and his Uncle John Lydon and his wife Marie, of Norwood. He was the son-in-law of William and Susan Briggs of Winthrop, and is survived by his brother-in-law Bill Briggs and his wife Laurie of Charlotte, NC, and his brother-in-law John Briggs and his wife Angie of Lynnfield, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Charlie was also the godfather to Brendan Dalton of Westwood, Connor Greig of Needham, and Patrick Briggs of Lynnfield. He was truly loved by all who knew him.

Visiting hours for Charlie will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 4-7PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, WESTWOOD. Friends and relatives are also invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Wednesday, at 10AM at St. Denis Church, 157 Washington St., Westwood, MA. Palmisciano, Dorothy J.

Dorothy June (McGrath) Palmisciano, a resident of Foxboro and formerly of Dedham, died Thursday, March 25, 2021, at her home in Foxboro.  She was 98.  Dorothy was born July 30, 1922, in Boston, Massachusetts, one of eleven children of Anthony and Beatrice (Doherty) McGrath, immigrants from Ireland. Dorothy graduated from Milton High School.  She worked in the payroll department at Lechmere Sales Company in Dedham until her retirement in 1980.  Dorothy was a member of the Drama Club at the Norwood Senior Center, where she also sang in the choir and enjoyed weekly line dancing classes.  She loved golfing and was an avid Red Sox fan.  Dorothy was the wife of the late Enrico H. Palmisciano, and the mother of the late Mary L Weibrecht (husband John), the late Gerard W. Palmisciano, and the late Kevin P. Palmisciano. She was sister to the late George, Leo, Paul, Joseph, and Rita McGrath, the late Rose Eaton, the late Alice Kennedy, the late Ruth Stellberger, and the late Kal Mahr.  Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Ann B. Fallon of Foxboro; her son, Denis R. Palmisciano; and her sister, Lorraine Kunz of Pembroke.  She is further survived by her eight grandchildren and their spouses, William Weibrecht, Melissa Colleton (husband Ronald), Kellie Laguerre (husband Winshell), Peter Fallon Jr., Jennifer Espinal (husband Eury), Jessica Fallon, Ryan Fallon, and Eric Fallon. She will be greatly missed by her eleven great-grandchildren, Logan and Amelia Weibrecht, Madison and Brooke Colleton, Lia and Kylie Rae Hayes, Marcel Laguerre, Myla Espinal, Liam Fallon, Kaiden Rota, and Henry Fallon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Monday, March 29, 2021, at 11 am at St. Mary’s Church, 420 High Street, Dedham, followed by interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.  Visitation with Dorothy’s Family from 10 to 11 am Monday at St. Mary’s Church prior to the Mass.
